    3. The material I'm sending this evening all comes from my yard sale book, which I call the "Old Taylor Book." "OBITUARY. Mrs. H. H. Coon, wife of Geo. Coon, died at the family residence in Mercer county, Mo., Jan. 12, 1892. She was born in Gallia county, Ohio, in 1822. Was married to Geo. Coon in 1843. To this union were born nine children, six of whom survive to mourn the irreparable loss of a dearly beloved mother. Three daughters having preceded her to that better land. She united with the M. E. church at the age of eighteen and from that time until her death lived a faithful and consistent christian. She was a kind and affectionate wife and a fond and loving mother, always ready to administer to the sick and help the needy. Although for the past ten months she suffered all the agonies that were possible for human to suffer, yet she was never heard murmur, and would say it was God's will that she suffered and it was all for the best. She would say her work was almost finished and she was only waiting and praying until the Lord was ready to deliver her from her suffering.! Her last words were praises to God, saying she would soon be at rest, free from all sickness and sorrow, where pain and death would come no more. Farewell dear mother for a short time, we will soon meet Thee in that sun bright clime. It was hard to give thee up but we know thy suffering is o'er, and God's will be done, and ours." (Here's the inscription on the stone from the 1986 cemetery book by Joe Dale Linn: "George Coon May 20, 1818 - Jan. 9, 1901; Hannah H. Childers wife of Geo. Coon died Jan 12, 1892 aged 69 y 26 d."--burial was in the Cain Cemetery, Mercer Co., MO--JV) "OBITUARY. Died, Jan. 30, 1890, of pneumonia, at the residence of W. A. Boxley, Amanda E., wife of James Boxley. The deceased was born in Mercer county, Mo., March 3rd, 1859. She was married to James Boxley Feb. 1st 1874. She became a christian when very young, uniting with the Christian church, after which she united with the Christian Union, where she lived a devoted christian until death. In her daily walk her upright example showed the world that she was seeking that city not built with mortal hands. She leaves a husband and four children to mourn their imcomparable loss. May the words of the Psalmist, 'Though Thou slay me, yet in Thee will I trust,' prove a balm to the bleeding hearts of the bereaved family. May God help them to continue to walk in the paths of righteousness, so that when life's toils are over they may meet that beloved wife and mother who is now free from all ills and pains forever. Her remains were followed to the Union cemetery by a large procession of sympathizing friends and relatives, where her body was laid to rest until the resurrection morn. J. E.! S." ( From the inscriptions as recorded in the 1986 cemetery book by Joe Dale Linn, are as follows: "James B. Boxley May 1, 1855 - Sept. 3, 1942; Amanda Cox, his wife married - Feb. 1, 1874, Mar. 3, 1859 - Jan. 30, 1890; Ida May Higgins, his wife married - Oct. 19, 1890 June 14, 1866 - Mar. 30, 1950--burial was in the New Union Cemetery--JV) "OBITUARY. Elizabeth F. Ader, wife of Eli Ader died Dec. 6, 1889. Sister Ader's maiden name was McRunnels. She was born August 14, in Mercer county, Missouri, 1852. Was convertred and joined the Protestant Methodist church when about 11 years of age, and lived a consistent christain until her death. She leaves a husband and eight children mourning her death, but they do not mourn as they that have no hope. The aged mother, husband and children, have the sympathy of many friends and the prayers of the church. Sister Ader was loved by all who knew her. During her illness she was a great sufferer, but she bore it all with christain fortitude, and out from under the dark clouds of earthly trouble has gone to the unclouded realm of eternal sunlight. The funeral services were conducted by the writer at the Painter school house on Sunday Dec. 8. A large assemblage was present. The funeral sermon was preached from the text found in 13 verse of the 14th chapter of Revelati! ons. Rev. Skovel of the Brehtren church assisted. Her remains were laid in the Weesner cemetery to wait until Christ shall come the second time, without sin, unto salvation. M. N. FORSHA, Pastor Lebanon church. (The Lebanon church was later called the Collings Methodist Church--JV) (Again, from the 1986 cemetery book by Joe Dale Linn is the following listing in the Weesner Cemetery: "Elizabeth wife of Sanford Eli Ader died Dec. 6, 1889 aged 37 y 3 m 21 d; Martha E., dau. of S. E. & E. F. Ader died June 21, 1893 aged 14 y 1 m 8 d." Some of the Aders moved to the west side of Mercer County, and in the Liberty Cemetery--also from Mr. Linn's cemetery book, are these listings: "Sanford E., son of S. E. & L. C. Ader died Mar 1, 1894 aged 1 m; Laura C. Ader 1864 - 1924, which is on the same stone as Mary E. Robb 1857 - 1930." I don't know if this is Sanford Eli Ader and a second wife and their infant, but could easily be. I found no listing for Mr. Ader in the cemetery ! book--JV) "GONE BEFORE. Laura Stock, daughter of W. W. and Mary Stock, 'fell on sleep' Feb. 18, 1892, aged 19 years four months and 18 days. She was at the time in Leon, Iowa, with her grand parents attending school. Before she was stricken down was with her grandpa, William Lemmax, in his last illness; he passed over the river a few days before her. She was one of Mercer county's girls, was desirous to have an education, but has left the primary to enter the grand college above. She was a lady of pure virtue, and one only had to look into the coffin that held the lifeless clay left for interment, to read the tokens of respect of friends left behind; she looked as if sleeping in a bed of flowers while the prettiest of all had been blasted just as it was ready to bloom. To know her, was to love her. She was brought to Princeton for interment and sleeps in the city of many sleepers of Mercer county's loved ones. MRS. ANDY CLEMENTS." (Again, I checked the 1986 cemetery book by J! oe Dale Linn and found only the following listings of anyone named Stock, in Mercer County: "Laurena M., dau of W. W. & M. L. Stock died Feb. 18, 1892 aged 19 y 4 m 17 d; Frankey, son of W. W. & M. L. Stock December 26, 1874 - January 26, 1875; Ira W., son of W. W. & J. L. Stock Jan. 26, 1876 - Feb. 7, 1880; Infant son of W. W. & M. L Stock Jan. 26, 1876 - Feb. 23, 1877." The listings are from the Princeton Cemetery--JV)
