SOURCE: Page 238/239 "Lineville-Clio, Iowa 1840-1994" TRUMAN MOORE FAMILY Truman Moore was a man who had a rough and tough life from beginning to end, but he could and would tackle any problem that came his way. He himself said he had been in a million fights in his day but would rather be a lover. He seemed to be a harmless sort of a person but everyone knew better than to back him into into a corner because he would go for his pocket and knew how to get out of a scrape. He didn't have much, but was the sort of man to help a friend or neighbor out in any way he could. He did his best to raise his children and some of his grandchildren as well Truman Kendall Moore was born in Wayne County, Iowa on June 27, 1907, the son of Otto and Flossie (Bates) Moore and died of a stroke on October 12, 1988, while living in a convalescent home near relatives in Belle Plaine, Iowa. Truman's wife and the wife and the mother of his children was Elenora Dean Dykes, the daughter of Virgil Elliot and Dorotha Linnie (Hickman) Dykes. His children are Curtis Lee, born in 1939; Jack Kendall 1941-1956; Maralyn Jane born and died in 1943; Esther Mae 1944-1983; and Lyle W. born in 1945.
