Jerry Grady Wayman, an 85-year-old resident of the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2001 at the nursing home. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today (Monday, April 23, 2001) at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton. Rev. Gary Ponder Williams officiated. Burial was in the Princeton Cemetery. Mr. Wayman was born in Mercer County on Nov. 4, 1915, the son of John and Naoma Stacy Wayman. He was united in marriage to Mildred Blair Kuykendall in 1947. She preceded him in death on Nov. 12, 1977. In 1979, he was married to Mary Lou Laws Smith. She survives of the home in Princeton. He was a lifelong resident of Mercer County and a farmer until ill health forced him to retire. He was a member of the Princeton First Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Mary Lou, Mr. Wayman is survived by three stepsons, Paul Smith and his wife, Carol, of Princeton, Don Smith and his wife, Toni, of Kirksville and Tom Smith and his wife, Linda, of Kansas City; 10 step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and by other relatives and friends. In addition to his first wife, Mr. Wayman was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Evelyn Severn, Bessie Glendean and Jessie Badger; one brother, Bill Wayman; and by a stepdaughter, Dolores Kuykendall.
