My great grandfather was George W Brown, b. 1848 in Daviess Co, MO to John A and Nancy Ninemires Brown. George W married Cordelia E Mason, abt 1885, in Mercer Co, MO. This was George's second marriage but I haven't been able to determine the name of his first wife. Do you have any additional information on the George W Brown who marred Elizabeth Jane Stanturf Vanderpool? You mentioned that Elizabeth Jane was last found near Modena in 1880. Just wondering if this couple is in the 1880 census? Thanks for any help, Linda -----Original Message----- From: Grams31@aol.com [mailto:Grams31@aol.com] Sent: Thursday, June 14, 2001 6:32 PM To: MOMERCER-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MOMERCER-L] Cemetery search My g g grandmother was Elizabeth Jane Stanturf. For anyone related to the Sullivan Ross family of Mercer County, I now have this line back to Scotland. Sullivan's parents were David and Elizabeth Leiftfritz Ross....David was a son of Hugh and Jane Ross of Cumberland County, PA. Hugh was born before 1776 in Scotland and served in the Revolutionary War. Hugh died in Cumberland County, PA about 1829 and Jane possibly in Highland County, OH before 1840. David and Elizabeth settled in Hardin County, OH in March 1835. Their children were: John H., Hugh Wilson, Jane Elizabeth (wife of B. F. Robb), James Young, George H., Andrew H. and Sullivan. Jane Elizabeth Ross married Benjamin F. Robb in Hardin County in 1845. They arrived in Mercer County after 1870. I have not found Benjamin's parents names who probably died before 1850. So any one with connections to this Robb family are invited to email me if they have any additional sources or information which would lead me to Benjamin's mother and father.
