    1. [MOMERCER-L] Old Obituary's
    2. Hello list and before I forget get Happy Holidays, I mentioned in an earlier e-mail that Nancee(McMurtrey) Seifert of the Decatur Co., Iowa list has transcribed hundreds of obituaries from the newspaper microfilms and posted them on the list. Her work has helped me and many others tremendously. I have about 800 old obituaries from the Mildred Crutcher scarp book. I thought I would post a few tonight and see what the response is good or bad. Several of these are from the Spickard, Grundy Co., Missouri area just a couple of miles across the county line. I can't post those here. I may post them at the Grundy Co. site later. I will put the persons name in the subject line so if you don't want to open it just delete them. If I do hit on someone from your family let me know. I will also post at the bottom of each obituary the amount of information I have on the deceased person. Jerry Jones

    2. Jerry, YES! I think it is a wonderful idea, and you are very generous in your time to do this. Some of my family names have been there and Grundy since 1848. Cunningham, Stevens/Stephens and Armstrong in particular. Thanks, Margaret Slote

    1. Re: [MOMERCER-L] Obituary's Week Of December 10th
    2. I do not wish to read obits from any county other than Mercer. Also, why not reply directly to the person involved when sending a message re files being forwarded from your database. I am certain this effort is appreciated by the recipient; but do not see the need to be posted to the Mercer List. Thanks for your consideration of this matter.

    2. Jerry--your offer is so generous!! Somehow I missed the list of your holdings; could you send it to me? Also my grandfather, John Robert Ashcroft(Ashcraft) and great-grandfather, Robert Ashcroft were in Mercer Co. My grandfather was born there circa 1864 (?). Any leads on this family would be appreciated. I do have them on the 1870 Census & 1880 census. They moved to Mercer Co. about 1861-2 from Ohio. I am interested in tracing the families of John Robert's siblings. Thanks. Betty
