Another story of one of the James brothers' spending the night at the farm & not revealing his identity until the next morning. Last one. My great grandfather, John Leonard Carnell, born in VA and later lived in Cass County and knew the James brothers and the Younger brothers. So far as I know, my family was not a member of any of the gangs. :-) After the war, John fled to Sherman, TX where the Younger brothers were for a time.
