I found many Haneys in Cyclone Twp. McDonald Co. MO in 1900, but didn't go to far into the data as I don't know first names. The name is not familiar to me, but they lived in the same areas as my great grandparents, Nancy Miller Prigmore Bunch and Nimrod Porter Bunch originally settled in White Rock.. Hi Marilyn! I don't know these people, but is it safe to assume that they know that White Rock is the same as Jane? (at least it is if I remember correctly). White Rock was the name of the community and Jane was the name of the Post Office. The community incorporated a few years ago as "Jane", but the school is still the White Rock School. There is no longer a Post Office there, so go figure. :-) It is about 14 miles by road to get from our cabin on Big Sugar Creek that is very near my family's old farm. If you go "over the hill", it is less than 3 miles. My grandmother used to walk or ride a horse back & forth to visit old friends after they moved to the farm near here. The Haney name isn't one I remember hearing talked about, but the person who asked for help was pretty sparing with clues. Hope you are all well.
