Does anyone have access to newspaper microfilm for McDonald Co? I'm looking for a name other than baby Johnson. From what I was told an infant of Thomas. N. and Nancy F. Johnson buried at Rocky Comfort Cemetery with Thomas and Nancy. However, the listing reads as "Johnston, infant dau. Feb. 22, 188? to Feb. 24, 188?". I am looking for a name & year. The year would have been Feb 1885, 1886 or 1887. OR if there is a site I can to go, I'd be happy to do it myself. Thanks for any information that you can help me with. I meant to type that there's a Martha, age 5 (not Mary, my mistake) living with Simon Markley Whitt and his wife, Elizabeth Whitt during the 1860 Putnam Co., MO census. Then in the 1870 census, she's referred to as M.J., (could be Martha Jane). Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. There is a Mary, age 5, listed on the 1860 Putnam Co. MO census, living with Simon Markley Whitt and his wife, Elizabeth Whitt. This would make her born about 1855, so that fits. Then, in the 1870 Crawford Co., Arkansas census, instead of Mary, there is a M.J. listed (could be Martha Jane), age 14, still living with Simon Markley Whitt and Elizabeth Whitt. Everything still fits. Then, in the 1880 Benton Co., Arkansas census, we have a child named Cynthia Williams, age 8, listed as the granddaughter, living with Simon Markley Whitt and his wife. It still fits, with Cynthia Williams possibly being the daughter that died young. Also, the fact that her son was named Simon, makes this a likely match. I'm also a descendant of this Whitt line; Simon Markley Whitt's father was my great, great grandfather. Would love to share more. Please excuse me for butting in, but the cemetery near Bolder City, was known as Hazel Green. There is an index in "The Story of STELLA and more". I have a copy if I can help any one. It is just a few miles north of McDonald County. On Google maps it is 5.1 miles from Stella and the McDonald County line is just south of Stella. Less than a mile, I believe. Most of the 5.1 miles to Stella is east also, so I believe Boulder City would be about 3 miles north of the county line. I have a couple of BROAM's at that cemetery. I THINK I know of the cemetery to which you are referring, but it is still in NEWTON county. The library in Neosho has a wonderful collection of all of the cemeteries in the county and has a map that locates the cemeteries. You might want to stop in and check out the genealogy section to get a map of your area. They also have a file drawer of family information. I know MARTIN is in that file. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, July 18, 2008 12:29 AM Subject: [MOMcDona] Help in "Boulder City Community" Cemetery? > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: JCrouch94 > Surnames: MARTIN; Burrus/Burris > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.mcdonald/2844/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > McDonald County, MO - Small "Community of Boulder City" located South of > Granby & Neosho areas - I believe on, or off of, HWY-D. > > Can someone possibly tell me the "Name" of large cemetery which is on the > 'Top of a Hill; just off main highway in this tiny community; it is in a > 'thinly populated farming area'? > > Also, would greatly appreciate someone providing the "Name" of > 'Care-taker', or Organization responsible for this cemetery and if > possible a means of contact - Phone No; Address; etc., to contact > Care-taker, or someone who can provide "records or information on burials" > of MARTIN family members. > > Trying to determine 'burial locations' and any information pertaining to > "James M. I have been unable to find the death records of Belle Reno & William P Boles. Wm died 2-28-1917 & Belle Reno died 7-3-1917, both buried in the Fox Cemetery. I was so hoping that they'd be in the Missouri Digital Heritage web site. Can't find either there. I am looking for the cause of death. Be nice to have a copy of the records, too.
