I would love to compare notes with you. Is your mother Margie? I was able to talk to Eddie Harnar (grandson of Curtis and Reta) before he passed away. He didn't have anything to add to what I already have. I also have talked to Phillip Harnar (another grandson of Curt and Retta.) I am at a stand still on my greatgrandfather Jefferson Collins (Reta's father). I do know that he lived with Curtis and Retta in 1910 and they were in Southwest City, Mo. That is the last I can find on him. I don't find Curtis and Retta on the 1920 census, but in 1930 they are in Okla. I am hoping you might have some little tidbit that will get me going again. Possibly some pictures to share. I have one of Retta with two of her grandchildren, Wayne and Curtis (Viola's boys) I also have a picture of Marion Harnar( and E.D. Harnar (Curt and Retta's son's) and a Ralph Jones. The picture says it was in Grove, Okla. They are standing around playing instruments. I got the pictures from my mother's album when she died. I also acquired a picture of Jefferson Collins and his wife Mary. This picture came to me from a distant cousin that I found doing genealogy. I am not positive that it is the Collin's. I have quite a lot of information on the Collin's and Harnar's. If you would like you can contact me off line, my email is: [email protected] and if you wold wish to call the #816-781-8194. Looking forward to hearing from you. Raye Dean Charlier Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I am the grand-daughter of Myrtle's older brother, Curtis Marion Harnar. My grandmother is Elbertus's sister, Reta Mamie. Elbertus was her favorite brother, and she called him "Burt." I also know that something happened and Myrtle was living with her father. I can't find all the info right this minute. It's in my files, I can send more info at a later time; if you still need it. I am trying to find a marriage record on my g-grandmother, Rebecca Anne Cotterman. I was informed by another researcher that my g-grandmother, Rebecca, married Thomas Hart Barlow on September 29, 1882 in Seneca, Newton County, Missouri. I have searched most records at the Newton County Library with little success for a marriage record. I recently found out that my g-grandmother and her family (Jacob Cotterman and wife, Rhoda Ann Kelley Cotterman) moved from Ohio and settled in McDonald County. They were living in McDonald County during the 1880 census. I believe, now, that Rebecca married in McDonald County. She and my g-grandfather would have married sometime between 1882 and 1883. Their first child, Roy Dewitt Barlow, was (supposedly) born on July 29, 1884. Is there someplace that I can write to to see if a marriage record might exist? Thanks for any help. Richwood Township is in the northeast corner of McDonald County. The nearest community is Rocky Comfort. I have family that lived there (and some still do). In addition to the library being able to look up these records from their copies, our County Recorder, Kenny Underwood, has been scanning the courthouse records and has them indexed and computerized. He may be able to send a copy via internet. I'm not certain. I do know he has the years you requested completed. - Raylene ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marilyn Carnell" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, September 25, 2008 9:09 PM Subject: Re: [MOMcDona] Marriage lookup > Contact McDonald Co.
