Mary Ann "Mollie" Gold Jackson was a first cousin of Sumner Maynards' wife, Mary Cavener Maynard. Hugh and Mollie had apparently eloped and were enroute to Indian Territory when they stopped at the Maynard's. Mary Cavener Maynard was a daughter of Wm. P. and Rachael Minerva (Gold) Cavener, born in 1855 in Christian County, MO. She married Sumner Maynard and they had 10 children; Cal, Claude, William, Milo, Bert, Laura, Carrie, Etta, Myrtle and Lou. I spoke with Cal Maynard's son Norman in 1998, but he didn't have much family history info. Sumner Maynard's father, Dr. Lyman Tyler Maynard, was the first physician in Newton County. I am looking for Emily Mizer who married my Great Uncle Amos Foreman in OK about 1886. He was part Delaware Indian. He died in 1887 so they weren't married very long and had no children. As his grave was relocated in 1978 I inquired of the Corp of Engineers and received documentation. The removal and re-internment were signed for by Bess Mizer Bridges granddaughter of Michael R., daughter of Benjamin, and niece of Emily Mizer. There is also a letter from Michael who sent money for the burial and says "the boys brought Emy home". The documents say Emily is buried in Caney, Kansas, which I would like to find. I have found an Emily Foreman who married William Drake in Kansas in 1900, but don't find either after that. There are Drakes, Mizers and Foremans living near each other in OK. in 1900. I am glad I found your information and, if you can tell me any more I would appreciate it. Also happy to share my info. 3. Thank you, will do. I plan on a trip to Pineville after the first of the year.  I have added another page called "Players" in which I am laying out a list of names of individuals known to have been identified in various documents with the McDonald Territory secession movement. There may be names on this page which are familiar to you; feel free to check it. http://www.qsl.net/kg0yh/players.htm   I am especially interested to know if any of these subjects might still be alive where I could arrange a face-to-face interview with them to record their recollections about this important event in Missouri and McDonald County history.   KEYWORDS: McDonald Territory, ARNDT, Walter, McDonald County, Missouri, 1961, Secession attempt, local post, private dispatch, local posts, private despatch, private carriage, anniversary --- On Thu, 12/24/09, [email protected] <[email protected]> wrote: Message: 2 Date: Wed, 23 Dec 2009 09:28:46 -0600 From: Marilyn Carnell <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [MOMcDona] ARNDT, Walter : Postmaster General,    McDonald     Territory To: [email protected], [email protected] Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed There is a wonderful collection of material on the event at the McDonald County Library.
