I do not have those letters of Elizabeth's. All I have as info is that I think your Nancy Jane Bullard was born March 3, 1829 in Claiborne Co., TN, and married William Maness. She died in abt. 1922 in Newton Co., MO. The other items I was interested in were the two Beeler sisters (daughters of Anna Bullard, Bowyer's sister), who married Moore brothers, and they were Elizabeth Beeler who married Fielding Lewis Moore and Mary "Polly" Beeler who married Samuel Martin Moore Jr., sons of Samuel Martin Moore who was a brother to Alfred and Squire Moore (I descend from Squire). Squire Moore's first wife was Rebecca Capps, so I'm interested in her connection to Henry Bullard's wife Leah Capps. Also interested in any details on Newton Brock who I have heard shot Alfred Moore, Mahulda Bullard's former husband. Was Alfred killed or just injured? How old was Newton at the time? After that Brock seems to have married sisters: Rhoda Bullard, and later Arminda! Bullard in McDonald Co., MO. I think they were the sisters of the Nancy Jane mentioned above, but I'm not sure. She was daughter of Bowyer and Elizabeth (Hodges) Bullard. Bowyer's father was John and I think his father was Joseph. Will double check this for accuracy. I have more but will take a bit of time to check it all out. You are right about the Kersy name being spelled various ways - common error as census takers didn't always get name spellings right. Luke was a lawyer type and I don't think he had children. Also believe that I read that he married Patrick Htnry's sister. WIll look through my file for more info. I, Too, have copies of the letters written by ELizabethtBullard. THey are in a library in s.w. Missouri. Times were hard for her during and after the war and she had to sell some of her land and needed the written approval of all her children. I appreciate that. Have you seen this name Kirsey/Kersey spelled as Casey? I'm looking at a James Casey family doc. that has that spelling. What does "Luke Bowyer/sec" mean? Isn't it interesting that this Bullard family's descendants had many Boyers, Bowyers, and Lukes down the lines, but no Kirseys, Kinseys or Caseys? Did Henry Kersey/Kinsey/Casey who was supposedly Agnes Nancy's father have a son James? This doc. says James's sister Agnes married John Bullard. I'm not sure who Jane Bullard is/was - do you mean Nancy Jane? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I was just trying to clarify what the maiden name or perhaps previous married name was of Nancy Agnes, wife of John Bullard b. abt. 1765. I was given information that her name had been Bowyer or Boyer, but it could also have been Kinsey, Kersey, or Casey according to some information on this message board. I descend from Squire Moore but his brother Alfred had been first married to Mahulda Bullard. As I understand it, Mahulda had a brother Bowyer or Boyer; I know that Alfred and Mahulda named a son Luke Bowyer or Boyer Luke Moore. I think I have enough on Alfred, who was my ancestor Squire's brother, but I was most interested in the Nancy Agnes Bowyer/Boyer or Kinsey/Kirsey/Casey debate.
