My Great-grandmother, Fairy Bee Ann Greene, was one of Dillard's and Polly Ann Eads Greene's daughters. I visited the old Greene place in 1979 with my dad, and there we saw the Greene (the spelling of the name on a metal sign at the cemetery) cemetery located on the place. A local relative, Wright F. Moon, took us to the property. The land was owned by the Elrod family at the time. There were, I believe, five daughters in the family. My Great-grandmother married Peter(Jansen)Johnson and moved to Colorado. The other daughter's married names were Taylor, Light, West and Moon. All remained in the area to the best of my knowledge, as did the boys. There were two sons, Joseph and Wesley. Polly had a brother, Jesse Eads. Dillard, according to our family history, came to Osage/Gascanade County, Missouri around 1830 from North Carolina, as a boy, with other family. Family tradition holds ! that Grandmother Polly was half Cherokee, but this has not been confirmed. We don't have very much knowledge beyond this, and anything you can add would be gladly received.
