Thanks for the additional information about her selling the land in Howell County, Missouri. (We have our Jacob Ehrhart & family that moved from Maries county to Spring Creek Township, Howell County, Missouri & Malinda & family in Howell Township, Howell County, Missouri in 1870 census) I found a William Giesler.. Pvt G 32nd Mo Inf .."headstones provided for deceased union civil war veterans" near Cottons P.O. Howell County, Missouri with date of death Sept 6, 1873...provided by Gross Brother contracted date of June 1 1890. We are thinking that this Malinda Barnes Giesler was the daughter of George & Elizabeth (Ehrhart) Barnes that lived in Maries County 1850---1880. in 1840, we think they were in Madison County, Indiana. It seems that I may have thought Nancy's middle name may have been Ellen or Ellinor. Will have to go back and see why I thought that. You seem to know about the Gieslers. Do you happen to know anything about Henry Barnes who married Nancy E Geisler about 1859 in Maries County, Missouri? Was this William Geisler and Nancy E Geisler brother/sister?
