Obit., 1972 - mid-Missouri newspaper: " Laymond Brumble, 66, of Meta, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 1972, at a Jefferson City hospital. Mr. Brumble was born Nov. 27, 1905 in Maries County, the son of Ray and Eliza Berry Brumble. He was married Feb. 28, 1932, at Dixon, to the former Miss Margaret Hollis, who survives. Mr. Brumble was a well known farmer and carpenter. He was a member of the Wheeler United Church of Christ and had served as a trustee there since 1944. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs.Jane Heyer, Meta; One brother, Leslie Brumble, Rolla; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Messersmith, Dixon; and Mrs. Ada Krone, Marshall; two granddaughters and two great-granddaughters. Services were held Tuesday at Iberia with the Rev. Earl Brown and the Rev. Mark Sooter officiating. Burial was in the Wheeler cemetery near Vienna."
