Lynn Mefford Lynn E. "MeeMo" Mefford, nee Phelps, 64, of Granite City, Ill., born Aug. 17, 1944, in Granite City, Ill., died 6:55 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, in Granite City, Ill. Mrs. Mefford had retired in 2006, with 18 years of service with Operating Engineers Local 520 as administrative assistant. She was a member of St. Andrew Episcopal Church in Edwardsville, Ill., Sweet Adelines and Milice DeSainte Famille 18th Century History Group. Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Olive "Punchy," nee Nelson, Phelps. Surviving are her husband, John K. Mefford, whom she married Feb. 29, 1988, in Belleville, Ill.; daughters, Cheryl Meagher and Martin Briggs, Kathy Krug and Glenda (Mark) Bixler, all of Granite City, Ill.; grandchildren, Justin and Jamie Meagher, Emily Krug, Daniel Bixler, Nicholas Krug and Megan Patterson; and great-grandchildren, Taylor Meagher and Aurora Meagher. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society. Funeral: Funeral Service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 406 Hillsboro Ave., Edwardsville, Ill., with Mother Virginia Bennett officiating.
