He was born in 1805 in Green County, Kentucky. He had two older brothers, Moses and Israel Thompson, who were born in 1804 in Green County, Kentucky. Their youngest brother was Johnathan Thompson who was born 10 Feb 1821 in Green County, Kentucky. It is possible that Johnathan's mother was a Native American woman as his name has reportedly appeared as Tahnattan. The Thompsons moved to Osage/Maries/Gasconade Counties in the early 1830's. Johnathan married Mary Rogers, born 19 Jul 1822, on 10 Feb 1837. They had fourteen (14) children. One of their sons was Alexander Clark "Diddy" Thompson. He was born 1 Sept 1858 probably in Gasconade County, Missouri. That is as much as I've been able to glean from the sites that I've searched. I hope this gives you some help in your search.
