Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper - 1971: " Former Maries County Man Dies" " Bryan L. Keeney, 73, of Old Highway 54 South, died Saturday March 27, (1971) at Jefferson Barracks hospital, St. Louis after a lingering illness. Mr. Keeney was born Sept. ?, 1897, in Maries County, the son of Jon and Missouri Hanks Keeney. He was married Oct. 23, 1921, to the former Miss Daisy Wilson, who survives. A World War II veteran, Mr. Keeney was a member of the Pleasant hill Baptist Church and Begles Barracks Veterans of World War I. (??) He was a member of Eagles Lodge, Jefferson City. Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Maxine Ringhofer, Arnold; five brothers, Otha Keeney, Fulton; Sidney Keeney, Richmond, Wash.; John Keeney, Pasadena, Calif.; Frank Keeney, Jefferson City; and Chester Keeney, Midlothian, Ill. Two sisters, Mrs.. Myrtle Gardner, Mayes, Kans.; and Mrs. Rita Meisinger, Arnold; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services were held Tuesday at Jefferson City with the Rev. Floyd George officiating. Burial was in hawthorn memorial Gardens cemetery there."
