Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper - 1973: "Funeral services for Mrs. Elva Jones, 102, Belle, were held March 14th (1973) at the United Methodist Church at Belle, Missouri. Mrs. Jones died march 12, 1973 at a Bland nursing home. She was buried at Centralia City Cemetery. Since the death of her husband, John T. Homes, in 1953, she had lived with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Mackey of Belle. She was born Feb. 20, 1871, in Knoxville, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Paralee Harding. She was married March 15, 1899. Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. George Mackey, Belle; and Mrs. Esther Ferguson, Glendale, Arizona; a brother, Edward Harding, Knoxville; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren."
