I have not been abe to find additional information. Their purported father, William Vineyard, died in 1849 in Missouri. In 1850 their purported mother, Rebecca Anastasia "Stacy" Cowan is found in Jackson Township of Osage County with four children: Jackson, 13, George, 11, Miriam 10 and David 7. Nancy and Elizabeth are not in the household. However, Nancy Vineyard is listed in the household of nearby neighbor, George MARTIN (listed as age 17 and born in MO). There were connections among the COWAN, MARTIN and VINEYARD families, though I have not untangled them all. I don't know where Elizabeth Vineyard was in 1850 census. In 1860 she is with her sister, Nancy, and Abraham Vanderpool. In 1840 census of Greene County, MO near David DOWAN and George MARTIN is the family of William VINEYARD (Vinegard) with 2 males under 5, 2 females under 5, 1 female 5-10 and a male and female 30-40. Since William VINEYARD supposedly died in 1849 in Missouri (not sure which county), I hope to locate probate record for him, which will hopefully provide the names of his children. I have been able to place Elizabeth Vineyard in any other family, but have no other proof that she is the sister of Nancy. --Myra Vanderpool Gormley Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
