Obit., mid- Missouri newspaper, 1972 - " Sherman James Coffey, 75, of Vienna, died Tuesday, September 12, 1972 at a nursing home in Columbia. He was born March 14, 1897 in Vienna, the son of Hiram and Mary Ann Evans Coffey. He was never married. Survivors include two brothers, Jeff Coffey and Tom Coffey, both of Vienna; and two sisters, Mrs. Lennie Snodgrass, Vienna; and Mrs. Lizzie Boehm, Pacific. Funeral services were held Thursday at the Birmingham Funeral Chapel, Vienna, with Rev. James Dace officiating. Burial was in Vienna cemetery."
