If so I have a little info that may be of help. ==== "Next to nothing is known of the ancestry and early history of John Thompson Powers prior to his appearance in Osage County, but he is thought to have been of New England descent. He was born September 22, 1806, and came to Osage County shortly after attaining his majority, and not later than 1830. He was married in that county to Elizabeth Ferrier, and almost at once moved to present Maries County and made it home the remainder of their lives. J. T. Powers practiced medicine in a small way in addition to farming, but was best known for his work in the ministry, in which he engaged in early life and continued during his active years. . Reverend Power's second wife was Mary Ann -----, who was born in 1818 and died August 14, 1873. After her death he married the widow of John Wild; no children were born of the last two marriages. Judy Germann knows a lot about John T. Powers. She said his marriage to Elizabeth Hinson Wiles ended in divorce and he spent his last years in the state hosp in Nevada, MO. So, was he a reverend AND a physician? It's all very interesting. Mary, see what you get started :-) with your good obits? Let's hope Laura asks another question.
