Perhaps you have a traditional story passed down you would like to try to prove or disprove; maybe an ancestor is present in one census and is missing the next - are you curious what really happened? Or are you satisfied with the "he must have died" explanation? In researching my own family, this type of research became my passion. I am talking about old court cases and the testimonies. These treasures are not available on microfilm and they have never been published. Cases range from civil actions between individuals, divorces, replenishments, ejectments, suits on notes to cases in which the State of Missouri is bringing charges. This type of case could be anything from selling whiskey without a license, to larceny, forgery, perjury, adultery, bigamy, robbery, assault and battery, rape, incest, murder and everything in between. Sound interesting? If so, go ahead and send me your name(s)and any background you would like to share. I will be glad to take a look and see if there are any related court cases. If there isn't anything, it won't cost you a dime. If there are items of interest and you would like to have them transcribed, I would be glad to do it for you.
