It sounds like it could be native american. I have an ancestor that lived up in the dry creek area that tradition has was an indian, but no one agrees what tribe or if she was half or full, etc. Her last name was Dill. I figure she must have been at least half because her daughter, who was my great great grandmother, looked like a indian princess in her younger pictures and when she was old, she really looked like an Indian. My mother remembers her well. But actually finding proof or clues whatsoever in the census or other recorded documentation has thus far proved impossible.
