I sure am going to miss him. James Lee Heady passed away from this life, Sunday, May 9, 2010 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 71. He was born in Gerald, Dec. 4, 1938, to Oscar Thomas Heady, Sr. and Ida Mae Curtman Heady. Jim graduated from Owensville High School in 1956. He attended University of Missouri his freshman year and graduated from St. Paul Concordia College, Seward, Neb. He began his life journey as a teacher at Immanuel Lutheran in Rosebud and Holy Cross in San Antonio in the early 1960s. He was a photographer for Olan Mills which gave him opportunity to travel throughout the country. In 1979, he opened an antique shop, Adams' Apple, Inc. in San Antonio. He was a professional appraiser and estate sale manager. James battled multiple sclerosis and leukemia courageously and with dignity for many years. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in San Antonio. Jim will be remembered as someone who was always willing to help a neighbor or friend. He enjoyed many hobbies and was very talented in art. He leaves behind his most trusted friends and companions, his three Schnauzers: Moses, Sugar Plum, and Shanor who were a great joy and comfort to him his last years of life.! He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Oscar Thomas Heady, Jr., and niece, Deborah Lynn Bohl. He leaves to mourn his passing, family members: brother, William C. Heady and wife, Vickie of House Springs; sister, Lucy M. Bohl and husband, Marvin of Hermann; nieces, Cathy Picker of Belle, Cheryl Bohl of Owensville, Lydia McCutcheon of Park Hills, nephews, Kevin Heady of San Antonio and Matthew Heady of Blackwell. He is also survived by two great-nieces, six nephews, numerous relatives and friends. Services were held May 13 at St. John's Lutheran Church with interment at Mission Burial Park South in San Antonio.
