Both Martha and my grandmother had children out of wedlock with Will Simpson.....He acknowledged all three girls in his will upon his death... Roena (I don't believe that is the spelling) was one of the children between Martha and William. My gg grandmother's husband left her and their children to head off into the gold fields for CA abt 1859 and he was killed in Kansas City. Several months later she gets pregnant..My gg grandmother's daughter ,your ancestor's Roena's half sister was Louisa C. Simpson........My gg grandmother died about six weeks after her birth, and Louisa was raised by Will Simpson and his wife. My grandmother , Louisa's daughter , said that they were of German descent as she was ...and there is no American Indian to my knowledge. Simpson's decendents also never told me of any American Indian.......My gg grandmothers pictures, nor any of children and their decendents (my line)have Indian features or skin of color.....If there was it would have showed up in the next several generations..
