I'm wondering what sources might exist for Maries Co in 1863. One of my ancestors (Freelove Forest/Forrest) who was from Ozark Co was living in Maries Co in 1863. We know she was there because she sold land she owned in Ozark in that year but she gives her location in that year as Maries. She is back in Ozark Co in 1870 so her time in Maries was temporary and short-lived. I suspect she was in Maries Co either becaue of family or because Ozark Co was devastated by the Civil War.
