LIST: When I see a query come to the list about a Henson/Hinson or from a Henson, it reminds me of a story about my dad and Jack Henson when they lived next to each other in Myerstown, near the Wheeler School. Jack and his wife,"Aunt Annie" as everyone called her, were getting old and had decided to quit farming and move to Owensville Mo. They were auctioning off all their stuff. They had a an old mare horse that was real old and no one would bid on her. The auctioner said " I'll bet Harden Whitaker will bid something for this old horse." Dad bid "One Dollar". "Sold" was the reply. >From that day forward, no one could remember that old horse's name. She was simply known as the "Dollar Mare". That horse lived forever. My brothers rode that old horse everywhere and dad plowed the Asa Rowden place with her for years. Mom & dad lived in the Jack Henson place after they moved to Owensville. Jack & Annie had a real nice home in Owensville but one day they were having some holiday event over there and they had parachute jumpers has an attraction. One of the jumpers chute did not open and his body went through the roof of Jack & Annie's new home. I'll bet they wished they were back over at Wheeler. DeVere
