I am working on Copelands from MO. My grandfather William Grant Copeland was born 1863 in MO. He later moved to Texas. I do not know where he was raised as a child. His death certificate lists his parents as Mary Butts from TN and J. Copeland. I have found a Mary J. Butts from TN who married Solomon Copeland in 1861 in Dent Co., MO and have been researching this Solomon Copeland to see if he could be J. Copeland somehow. Solomon is the son of Ranson/Ransom/Rance Copeland who was a Union officer in the Civil War in Dent Co., MO. If anyone has any info on these people, please let me know. Kathy Copeland California
