CURTIS DIES SUDDENLY OF HEART ATTACK Carl F. Curtis was born at Harmon, Illinois November 21, 1890 and died in Minneapolis, Minnesota January 7, 1963, suddenly of a heart attack while talking to another man in a hotel lobby. He had never married. Surviving him are one sister, Mrs. Mable Gillispie of Vienna, two brothers Glenn of Doniphan and Harry of Castle Rock, Washington, 22 nephews and nieces and a number of grand-nephews and nieces and a host of friends in Minneapolis and Vienna. His oldest brother Ray died in June 1953. His parents moved to Vienna when Carl was five years old. When a young man he united with the Methodist church at Vienna. He later went to Iowa and Northern Minnesota where he worked awhile then went to Minneapolis where he enlisted in the US Army at the age of 27 and served one and one-half years. After receiving an honorable discharge, he returned to Minneapolis and worked in the Veterans hospital for several years before he retired. At the time of his death he had been working for a dental laboratory. He was a member of St. Anthony, I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 40. Services were conducted at the Birmingham funeral chapel with Rev. J.M. Shockley and Rev. Marion Spurgeon officiating. The pallbearers were old friends Charlie Brown, Joe Shockley, Ellis Crum and Tommy Hawkins and nephews, E.O.
