HICKS Oma Chester Hicks, 77, of Jefferson City, a retired farmer died at the family home Tuesday, Jan. 15, after a lengthy illness. He was born Nov. 15, 1886, near Linn, the son of the late Blueford and Merinda Hicks. He was married in April of 1906 to Miss Etta Matthews, who preceded him in death. He later married Miss Lucy Jane Willis on Feb. 7, 1942 at Brunswick, who survives him. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Beulah Rogers, Jefferson City, and Mrs. Cleo Olten, Linn, three sons, Adolph Hicks, Jefferson City, Glenn Hicks of Holts Summit, and a stepson, Roy Willis of Washington, a half-br (chips out here but believe it is brother) Forrest(?) Clark, Jefferson City, 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Baptist Church at Waverly. Services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at a Jefferson City funeral chapel.
