Two columns to the right of Mr. Johnson's obit is that of Fred Lindner, who is also shown in the photo. CHARLES P. JOHNSON DIES IN ST. LOUIS, RITES AT BELLE Funeral services for Charles P. Johnson of St.Louis and formerly of Belle, were conducted Monday morning at the Belle Baptist church, with the Rev. L.M. White officiating. Burial was in the Libery cemetery. Mr. Johnson was born March 25, 1896 at Edwardsville, Ill., a son of John and Flora (Givens) Johnson and died January 10 at a hospital in St. Louis after a years illness. Mr. Johnson was a mechanic and for ten years was self-employed. On June 11, 1915 he and Flora Lore were married in St. Louis. Besides his wife he is survived by eight of the nine children born of the marriage. They are Mrs. Pauline Daum and Mrs. Dorothy Lawson, both of California state; Mrs. Virginia Hull, St Charles; Mrs Helen Sabath, St. Ann; Mrs Jean Wandersee and Mrs Gloria Vaughn, St. Louis; Charles P. Johnson, Jr and William L. Johnson also of St. Louis. Surviving also are one half brother Oliver Schoue of Detroit Mich. and one sister Evelyn Gilbert of California state and 23 grandchildren. Those from out of town attending the services were Mr and Mrs Lee White, Judge; Mr and Mrs Richard Sabath, Villa Ridge; Mrs Joe Lore and sons, Philip and John and Joe McKinney of St Louis and Pvt Charles R.
