Duffin I've been following the Ireland/Scotland discussions. The Francis and Rose Duffin clan that settled in Maries County in 1870's came from Glenravel Parish, Skerry, County Antrim Ireland. In the late 1850, early 1860 they moved to Scotland to work in the coal mines at Landmark. There are still Duffin cousins residing there. The Duffins settled in Vienna, Mo. They were Catholic and married into the German Catholic families in Brinktown. Last year I commissioned research with the Ulster Historical Foundation in Northern Ireland. They have a website. FYI Their rates were high and I felt their research documentation was mediocre.
Terry, Its good to hear your notations on the Ulster. I was getting ready to ask for a lookup from them. For Neal McKeever & Bridget Kerr McKeever Hugh & Rose Kerr, William and Bridget Kerr, and Mary Ann Kerr & James McKown of MAries County. My ambition was to find documents here showing a township/parish before hand since they were Catholic. In Kansas City the Irish Church kept track of their Irish parishners home towns and thought Visitation would have too. Although I saw the Kerrs and McKeevers ,neighbors even in the 1851 Antrim census online, I just can't conclude which is our Maries Family. The Kerr/Fitzpatricks of Maries County are alive and healthy in Mission Hills,Ks. I am Kerr/Benton/Skaggs line from Maries .
