First record we have is 1870 census from Hunt County Texas where he is listed as a nephew living with Anderson Jackson Beezley. JV Riley remembers an aunt (we believe Parmelia Jane Riley who married Beezley) taking him and he looked back to see his home burning. This would probably have been during the Civil War. These are the people we believe he was related to: Father David Riley (wife unknown). Last census 1850, age 17.
