Friday, January 6, 1899 ---------------------------------------- STAMP, JULIUS Julius Stamp, one of our progressive German citizens, died Saturday, May 12, aged 62 years. He was born and educated in Germany. Emigrating to the United States while a young man, he located in St. Louis and remained for a number of years at his profession of cabinet maker. On leaving the city, Mr. Stamp came to a German settlement in Maries county where he married and afterwards removed to Crawford county. He has lived at Three Mile about 18 years, was a pronounced book worm and owned a fine library, including the works of many classical German and English authors. During his sickness he requested that his wife should wait upon him until his burial as much as possible without other help. The body was interred Monday morning in the German graveyard on the Vogler farm.
