Solomon's father was Solomon Copeland Sr., born about 1774 in Essex Co., Virginia. Solomon Copeland Sr.'s wife was Rebecca Davis. There was a Solomon Josiah "Little Joe" Copeland who was the son of Col. Stephen Copeland. This Solomon was born in 1799 and was married to Sarah Tippet. There was another Solomon Copeland that was born in 1828 who married Sarah Vaughn. This Solomon's parents were William Copeland Sr., and Elizabeth Taff.
