Forwarded by the listadmin for: "Cliff Metcalf" <cliffmet@qwest.net> Noah Copeland is a half brother of Milly Jane (Copeland) Hancock. Milly Jane married Ruth Doyle's brother Leander Doyle, probably in 1854 since their first child, William, was born 29 Feb, 1855. Leander and Ruth's brother, Hugh Lee Martin Doyle also married Noah's sister Leerva Copeland. They apparently all resettled in St, Clair County, MO as Milly Jane, Hugh L M, Leerva and Ruth are all buried there. Leander apparently died in Maries County before 1860 because Milly Jane is listed as a widow on that census. Does anyone have any info (even undocumented family history) on what happened to Leander? Based on the 1850 census, Leander was born in 1838, which would have made him only 16 in 1854 when he married Milly Jane, who was about 27. Seems awfully young, but must be accurate unless the census taker wrote it down wrong. Would appreciate any further info on any of the Copeland/Doyle families.
