List, I am not researching the Viessman/Viessmann family but my family married into them and I worked at the Post-Dispatch with one for many years. My cousin Velma married Ray "Putt" Viessman. He is passed on so, I mentioned his name. "Putt" always said the spelling of the Viessman name designated whether they were Catholic or Protestant. If it it ended with two "Ns" they were one and one "N" was the other. I don't recall which way it was. The Viessman I worked with was killed in an auto crash. He was from a family of about eight brothers or more. They were all patriotic and most served in the Navy. I think some still do. One of the boys was a highway patrolman and a good one. I understand that he went to the car crash site not knowing that the fatality was his brother. I just sent this for sentimental reasons. DeVere
