Maries County (MO) Gazette, 16 Aug 1995 HENRY READY Richard Henry Ready, 89, of Vienna, was born on April 20, 1906 in Maries County, a son of Richard and Molly Ridenhour Ready, and departed this life at 2:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug 11, 1995 at the Capital Region Medical Center, Still Campus, Jefferson City, after failing health of two months. Mr. Ready was united in marriage on January 26, 1933 at Union, to the former Miss Ruby Martha Elizabeth Keeney and to this union five children were born. He was preceded in death by his father on March 31, 1956; his mother on Decmber 31, 1946; one brother Marshall Ready on November 4, 1981, and an infant sister. He was a member of Little Flock Baptist Church, Vienna, and a life-long farmer of Maries County. Mr. Ready was employed by the Rock Island Railroad Company, Kansas City, in 1943 with the Freeburg Section crew and with the consolidation of various sections, he became employed with the maintenance crew for the entire Rock Island Line. His last years of railroad service were at St. Albans as a track patrolman and retired in 1968 after 25 years of dedicated service. Those left to mourn his passing include: his wife, Mrs. Ruby Ready of the home in Vienna; four sons Corbett Ready, Owensville, Gerald Ready and Dean Ready, both of Vienna, and Roger Ready, Taos; one daughter, Georgia Lee Cassmeyer, Oklahoma City, Okla; one brother Ray Ready, Vienna; ten grandchildren, two step grandchildren; one great grandchild; and one step great grandchild. Funeral services were conducted the following Sunday in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes with Rev. Cellis A. Crum, Vienna, officiating. Favorite hymns were sung for the service. Interment was in the Vienna Cemetery. Active pallbearers were his sons and grandsons; Corbett Ready, Gerald Ready, Dean Ready, Roger Ready, Greg Ready, John Backues, Kerry Backues, Doug Ready, Brett Ready, Brice Ready, and Luke Ready. Honorary pallbearers were his granddaughters: Lisa James, Connie Barringhaus and Amy Ready. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Little Flock Baptist Church, Vienna, with envelopes available at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.
