Mrs. Wansing had been in failing health for some time. Mrs. Wansing was united in marriage on August 5, 1944, in Cheyenne, Wyo. to Karl Joseph Wansing and to this union three children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on November 30, 1989; her father on March 4, 1964; her mother on April 13, 1952; and two brothers, Leonard John "Jinky" Fitzpatrick on July 15, 1994 and Henry Fitzpatrick on December 24, 1994. Mrs. Wansing was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna and the St. Ann's Sodality of the church. She was a cook for the Maries R-I School System, Vienna, for several years and had been employed at Quaker Window Products, Freeburg, retiring in 1981. Those left to mourn her passing include: two sons, Alvin D. Wansing, Springfield, Ohio, and Leonard "Lunch" Wansing, Vienna; one daughter, Emily Helms, Hendersonville, Tenn.; two brothers, Clarence Fitzpatrick, Riverview, Fla., and Lawrence "Larry W." Fitzpatrick, Jefferson City; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Bauer and Mrs. Lucille Brune, both of Freeburg; and six grandchildren. A Rosary service was held on Friday at the Birmingham Martin Funeral Chapel, Vienna, with Rev. Tom Waickman leading. The Mass of Christian burial was celebrated the following Saturday in the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, with Rev. Tom Waickman, Pastor and Rev. Sylvester Bauer, Freeburg officiating. Lector for the mass was Lawrence Fitzpatrick. Eucharist Ministers were Tom Otto, Judy Bax and Lorine Reinch; Acolytes were Ellie Byrd and Jennifer James. During the Offertory Procession the gifts were borne to the alter by her brothers and sisters, Clarence Fitzpatrick, Larry Fitzpatrick, Elizabeth Bauer and Lucille Brune. The Visitation Church Choir under the direction of Mrs. Jeanne Redel sand(sic), accompanied by Mrs. Gloria Brunnert. Interment was in the Visitation Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lori Wansing, Jodi Wansing, Katie Helms, Kristie Afzali, Cyrus Afzali, Daniel Wansing and Lee Ann Wansing. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Brune and Henry Bauer. Spiritual offerings to be applied for Masses or memorial contributions to the Visitation Church and School Memorial Fund are preferred by the family with envelopes being available at the Vienna Office of the Birmingham Martin Funeral Homes.
