She was the daughter of A. Ferdinand Rieke, b. 31 Dec 1838 Detmold, Germany, d. 27 Dec 1878 Maries County MO, buried Walker Cemetery, Maries County MO. He married, probably before 1864, to Polly M. Love, b. 25 Dec 1848, Lanes Prairie, Maries County MO, d. 4 Mar 1907, Vichy, Maries County MO. She was the daughter of John Love and Mary (Polly) Wasson. Her siblings were: Charles A. Rieke, b. Dec 1866, m/ 19 Feb 1900, Phelps Co MO to Susan Lovelace. Nellie Ray Rieke, b. 1870, d. 29 Jul 1888. Laura Olivia Rieke, b. 22 Feb 1864 Maries County MO, d. 16 Aug 1901, Maries COunty MO, m/ 8 Mar 1888, Phelps Co MO to Richard B. Bucklew. Ophelia Rieke, b. 1874 Maries COunty MO, d. 4 Feb 1916, Oklahoma, m/ ca 1890 to Elisha Heady. (Maries County Gazette, 21 Aug 1920 - Elisha Heady and wife of OK are in on a visit with friends and relatives in Belle and vicinity. Mr. Heady is a former resident of Vichy, his 1st wife before her death being Miss Ophelia Rieke, of Vichy. Later he m/ Mrs. Rosa Boyce (nee Branson, daughter of M/M Jeff Branson of Byron). Mr. Heady has been a traveling salesman for the Rawleigh Medicine Company for 8 years. Robert Russell James, b. 18 Apr 1856, d. 16 Oct 1937, Maries county MO, was son of George James and Sarah Lavinia Courtney. According to King, she was first married to Samuel Shinkle. George was son of John James, who came from TN. John's first wife was thought by King to possibly be a sister to George Moreland. Some of this info is from King's History of Maries County, and there is also a great piece in the History of Maries County, volume III, which was written by the late Kilby Jones, also a descendant. It has photos of Robert and Flora and their family. I should tell you that I have taken this information from many sources, but have not proved it completely as it is not my line.
