    3. My cousin was married to Ray "Putt" Viessman and I worked with a Don Viessman from Vienna, who was the brother of Tony Viessman of the Highway Patrol. there was a bunch of those boys. Some of the spellings were just census taker errors but they always told me if it was spelled with one "s" they were Protestant and if two "s" they were Catholic or visa-versa. It seem to me the ones from Brinktown spelled theirs different from those from Vienna. 3. Hi, Yes, there is the spelling of Veasman. My grandfather was Husted Veasman. Thanks to many I was able to put the puzzle together. The first Catholic Church in Maries County was held in the home of John W. Viessmann in the small community of Viessmann Station, MO. It is known today as Brinktown. There is a book History of Maries County Volume III which has a couple of pages about the Veasman/Viessman's. I do not have the book only copies of these pages.
