My question is, does anyone know anything about the James McDaniel and Susannah Blackwell referenced below, who had a daughter named Mary Ann McDaniel? I don't have any information on them. He married (1) JULIA ANN REED November 13, 1852 in Gasconade County, Missouri. He married (2) RUTH MALISSA THOMAS November 26, 1862 in Gasconade County, Missouri. She died in Mount Auburn, Illinois. He married (3) MARY ANN MCDANIEL March 17, 1866 in Owensville, Gasconade County, Missouri, daughter of JAMES MCDANIEL and SUSANNAH BLACKWELL. She was born January 06, 1849 in High Gate, Maries County, Missouri, and died October 12, 1935 in Bland, Gasconade County, Missouri.

Melinda: Here is some additional info on James and Susan McDaniel. Connie Davidson (See submission from Maries Co History, Vol II) is a direct descendant of James and Susanna. I corresponded with her several years ago and also met her in 1993. She lived in Edgar Springs, MO at that time. "James McDaniel" story printed on page 330 & 331 of Volume II of "A County Family History" published by Maries County Historical Society, Maries Co, MO: James McDaniel, Farmer, born about 1810 in Missouri married Susannah Blackwell, born ca 1822, Virginia. It is believed the McDaniels came from the St Louis area and are Irish. James and Susannah married in Crawford County March 9, 1837. Census records list Mary Blackwell, born 1832, and Zachariah Blackwell, born 1834, as her brother and sister. Apparently they lived with James and Susannah.. Also had son Robert born 1856. Susannah's will lists heirs as Mahaley Jenkins, John McDaniel, Mary Ann McDaniel, Ferdinan McDaniel, Robert McDaniel and Jasper McDaniel who is living in southwest Missouri. Mary Ann's obituary lists her brothers and sisters:; John James, Pete, Columbis, Jasper, William and Mahalia. Mary Ann McDaniel had written a paper that said her father died in 1860, her mother died in time of the war in 1863. In Susannah's estate, it says to appraise slaves and other "personaly" estate. At courthouse, September 9, 1863, a paper was signed by Anthony Jenkins (his mark X) relinquishing his right to be administrator of estate of Susannah McDaniel. Surely he could write his name. At age 12, he is listed in the census as in school. Also, he is wounded and hiding out from Northern troops. Anderson Glen is appointed administrator. John McDaniel married Mary Jude Brown. children:; Samuel, Emily, Cora and James. Mary Ann McDaniel married Elisha Hollandsworth in 1866. Children: Rosa, Martin, Martha Decker, William E., Elisha J., Viola Haddox, Lee Ann Murphey and James. Robert McDaniel married Martha J.
