1. My Maries Co., MO name of interest is COPELAND. My folks moved to Vernon Co., MO before the Osage-Maries split, but I follow this list. Specifically Joseph COPELAND and Martha??. Kids: Mahala, Rebecca, Martin, Polly, William Elizabeth, Ovena, Sarah, Joseph, Mary, Cassius, and Jane. I'm not sure how they connect with the other area COPELANDs. I descend from Sarah who married Joseph Marion STRAIN (1844-ca 1898), son of James Harvey STRAIN of Montgomery Co., MO. I have no idea why J.M. STRAIN moved to Vernon Co., where he subsequently married Sarah. Perhaps J.M. was acquainted with the COPELANDs for some reason and he just tagged along. Anyhow, I'm interested in the COPELANDs from this part of Missouri.
