Newton A. and Nancy Jane were my grandparents. Calvin and Elizabeth were Newton's parents. Newton and Nancy were my father's parents. I knew of Harvey Spencer, but am not sure how we were related...cousins I suppose. I am looking for information on Sarah Spencer Prince, and Myrtle Spencer Davis, as well as their sister Viola Spencer.......? I do not know her married name as she divorced before I was born. I have no family left on either side...my mother was a Hodge from Maries County. I would love to exchange info. [email protected] is my e-mail. I seldom go to this website. But I do run across things that have come from Phelps County - either on change of venue - or because the person(s) involved maybe lived in Maries County but were closer to Rolla and went to Rolla for lawyers etc. This is really bugging me now because I know that not too long ago I saw the name Janes thinking it was James, but I cannot remember where. I will be sure to keep a look out for it now and let you know when I come across it again. It has been years since I have been to the cemetery and I do not believe the cemetery is next to the Church. The cemetery location as described in the "Tombstone Inscriptions of Pulaski County" published by the Pulaski County Museum and Historical Society is as follows: North of Dixon on 133. As you can see by MapQuest, this location is only a few miles outside of Dixon, before the Maries County border. Probably 4-5 miles from the Seaton Church. The county line being on the west/east section of Carney Rd which T's over Crest Rd. Would you mind looking at these road and satelite maps and tell me if you think the long/lat are recorded right? While Seaton Cemetery is located in Pulaski County and the town of Dixon is also located in Pulaski County, both are so near the Maries County line that often time people will say that a person who died in Maries County was buried in Seaton, Maries County. Most likely, I have done that myself. By the way I will be visiting the Seaton Seaton in June. My great, great, grandfather Samuel Helms is bured there in an unmarked grave. Also my great grandmother Catharine Helms-Seaton-Null is buried there. Also, one of my major unresolved areas of investigation is to determine if James Seaton's first wife, Martha was a Helms and possibly the sister of James second wife Catharine Helms (my great grandmother). The Tombstone Inscriptions of Pulaski County lists his first wife as Sarah Helms and a book printed for the 100th Anniversity of Dixon mentions his first wife was a daughter of Samuel Helms. I have done a fair amount of research on family members in the Dixon area as both sides of my parents came into the area in the 1850's. NMeyerWeller: The Seaton Cemetery is located in Maries County, Miller Township, Section 17 in the southwest corner of the county. On the map it looks to be only a few yards north or even right on the Pulaski County line. It can also be found on the "Tavern" 15 minute quadrangle map published by the US Geological Survey and available on line. I don't have the URL but it shouldn't be hard to find. I grew up in Maries and Pulaski Counties, so far as I know there is only one Seaton Cemetery. In "The Cemeteries of Maries County, MO" by Gail Howard and Mozelle Hutchison, 1986, the survey is dated November 26, 1983. The listing od burials covers 13 1/2 pages in a 8 1/2 x 11 softback book. This book may be available from the Maries County Historical Society, P.O. Box 289, Vienna, MO 65582. Sharon Wulff is our Correspondent/Research person. William L. Author: ljfelixstl Surnames: Ramsey Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.maries/1437.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Henry Monroe Ramsey was my grandfather. After Laura Evans passed away, he married Sarah Eaton and they had nine more children. My father, James Eaton Ramsey, was the 11th of 13 children (4 with Laura Evan and 9 with Sarah Eaton) and his H.M. was 47 when he was born. Many/most of the Ramsey clan married and had children late in life, and this was true also of my father. By the time I was born there were only four children still living -- May, James, Pete and Paul (the latter were twins). In all there were three sets of twins from HM and either Laura or Sara, though I have yet to find all of the documentation for proof. There are very few grandchildren of H.M. Ramsey left, as I have only one living sibling and there are four additional cousins from my father's youngest brother, Pete. Needless to say, I would be VERY interested in getting in touch with Bernard Bade to gather information on the Ramsey family bible. If any of the H.M.'s children were alive, I believe that ! the oldest son (William) would be 123; my father would be 101 and his twin brothers would be 99. Though I am just beginning my formal search on Ancestry.com, I am sure that I have Ramsey family information that probably isn't available anywhere else. Though H.M. Ramsey indicates here that he was a Cashier, he later became the president of the Joplin State Bank. He died August 15, 1923 and the family then relocated to Houston, TX. I am not at the point of organizing the Ramsey family information into a tree, so currently I have it saved for future organization. Thus, if anyone needs information on my grandfather/grandmother, my father, his siblings and their children, please contact me. I would also be interested in the Ramsey cemetary, as that was never brought up by my father, nor my aunts or uncles and I am unaware of its location (in MO).
