Looking for any information on Heneritta Wessemann who married Frank Kehr. They both died in Maries County in 1889. I have much information on Frank Kehr but nothing about Heneritta Wessemann. I am not even sure if that is the correct spelling. I have found it spelled many different ways. The spelling Wessemann seems to be used the most, at least on the children's death certificates. Any information would be appreciated. Susan Kehr Gilbert Spfd, Mo **************Life should be easier. So should your homepage. Try the NEW AOL.com. How is it known that these two wives were sisters? I found Abraham's dau Elizabeth who m. Andrew McClure death cert which shows her mother as Abraham's #2 wife Elizabeth Vinyard - probably because her own mother Nancy died young and Elizabeth raised her. I see on 1860 census in Maries Co. Abraham has both wife Nancy age 24 b. TN and an Elizabeth 20 in his household, so I looked back in 1850 to find a Vinyard family with these two girls, but couldn't. I saw the marriage record to Elizabeth Vinyard, but none to a Nancy before 1860. I do see Abraham, Elizabeth & Nancy Vanderpool (d. 1866) in Williams Cem. Maries Co. Thanks for any help, I just need to make sure this Nancy, wife of Abraham was a Vinyard and not one of my missing family. My Great-grandmother, Fairy Bee Ann Greene, was one of Dillard's and Polly Ann Eads Greene's daughters. I visited the old Greene place in 1979 with my dad, and there we saw the Greene (the spelling of the name on a metal sign at the cemetery) cemetery located on the place. A local relative, Wright F. Moon, took us to the property. The land was owned by the Elrod family at the time. There were, I believe, five daughters in the family. My Great-grandmother married Peter(Jansen)Johnson and moved to Colorado. The other daughter's married names were Taylor, Light, West and Moon. All remained in the area to the best of my knowledge, as did the boys. There were two sons, Joseph and Wesley. Polly had a brother, Jesse Eads. Dillard, according to our family history, came to Osage/Gascanade County, Missouri around 1830 from North Carolina, as a boy, with other family. Family tradition holds ! that Grandmother Polly was half Cherokee, but this has not been confirmed. We don't have very much knowledge beyond this, and anything you can add would be gladly received. On the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census they are listed as living in Union Township, Pulaski Co, MO, Waynesville Post Office. Family lore states: Samuel died in late 1880 and Lucinda followed in 1884, but I have no actual proof of those dates. Also, they are supposed to be buried in Seaton Cemetery, Maries Co, MO, but I've not found anyone who can verify that fact. Many of Sam and Lucinda's children and grandchildren are buried at Seaton, Antioch and other local Dixon area/Pulaski County cemeteries. Samuel's son, John, (by his first wife), bought land in Franklin County in 1865 and Dad, Walter Helms, still lives on the family farm. Dad wishes to visit and place a headstone on his great grandparents' graves, but I've searched everywhere I know to search without any luck. Please - if anyone has any information that could/might help us locate their graves - it would be Most Appreciated. If it helps, the HELMS Family information can be found here: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=rosekidcats&id=I8506 Many Thanks, Rose Hyde [email protected] Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Her son, Emery, erected a stone for her at Rock Springs Cemetery which read "In loving memory of our dear mother and infant" The dates shown are 1837 - 1862. The reference on this is the "Cemeteries of Maries County" by Hutchison and Howard.
