    3. Wanda, Plese thank your mother for me. I guess the reason the name Skiatook was not familiar was that the Post Office only lasted a couple years and was way before my time. 3. Carolyn: Ref: " I have just one question, where is Skiatook in Maries County??? I spoke with my mother, who will be 87 in June and was raised in Dry Creek-Stickney Area. She said, to her knowledge, and if her memory served her right, Skiatook was close to the road that went to Brinktown from hiway 28. She said that Uncle Charley and Aunt Cynthia Campbell Roberson lived not far from that area, and according to marriage license, Carrie Campbell Roberson (Wid of James Monroe) was married to Luther Prock in 1916 at the residence of Charles Roberson. Carrie was a sister to Cynthia. Charles Monroe Roberson was half-brother to my G-grandmother, Edna Roberson Sneed. My mother remembers her mother talking about her and Grandpa Joshua Sneed taking Corn to a old Mill in that area to be ground. Only the old mill was to the left of the road that went to Brinktown. This might have been the Skiatook area. It was just an old wagon road, and it might not even be there now. If this is not correct, hopefully someone will make a correction. As my mother said, its been toooo many years ago. Wanda

    3. Unless you can find a family connection to Kirksville, one speculation could be that Fulton State Hospital might have contracted out for indigent burials. Perhaps the undertaker in Princeton, MO (on the other side of Kirksville from Fulton) was the low bidder, and he used a Kirksville cemetery. Just a guess. 3. There was a Post Office named "Skiatook" From 1915-1917. To say where it was located, I don't know at this point. Re: Maria Davis Roberson-Fagg. I wonder if there could be an obit somewhere that would furnish that piece of the puzzle. Many of the early records at Fulton State were lost for some reason. My Nephew was a RN there, and he said records were hard to come by. Will let you know if I find additional info. Several marriages are online for Missouri if you have Ancestry. I don't know if the post offices for Maries Co will come through. Skiatook is listed. Maybe some of our Historians can tell us the location. Wanda. On a side note, I will always be grateful that you interviewed local Maries county "old folks" about family history back years ago when many of us weren't thinking of genealogy.
