Happy New Millennium to all. My current project is an annotated 1880 census of Osage County Missouri, I've completed Benton Twp, and currently am working on Crawford Twp. The Mid Missouri Genealogical Society has published my 1850 Annotated Census of Osage County which includes the Northern half of Maries County, My thanks to Judy Germann and Connie Reichard for their help with that project. I read the news groups and usually answer off line as it is easier for me to send attachments. I'm always more than happy to exchange date with Osage/Maries Genealogist. Meg Meg Margaret H. Posted on: Maries Co MO Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mo/Maries/686 Surname: Kuensting, Richter ------------------------- Theresa Kuensting (Richter) was my grandmother. She grew up in Maries Co., and spoke of the Wansings. I believe it was a close knit community. Meinholf (Meinard as grandma called him) was my great grandfather. I would be greatly interested in exchanging information on the Kuensting or Richter families with anyone. I have some pictures of Theresa if anyone would be interested in those.

Margaret Is any of your census work for sale? If so, please let me know where and how I can order. I believe some of my elusive Griffith/Griffey family may have been Osage Co., and there's no telling who all else that I'm looking for was there! <G> Thanks, Jewell --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!? Joy, I have a listing. What Woody are you looking for. The cemetery is on a country road between Vancleve and St. Elizabeth. It's probably a half mile from the Oscar Woody place. Does anyone talk to Meg Gentges anymore? I think I spelled her last name right. I see she did a book on early births in Osage Co, does anyone have a copy of that? Looking for Burtcher children, it could be spelled any one of a number of ways including Butcher/Bircher/Birtcher/Bercher/Bertcher, I think the 1860 census has something like Babratchar, the father could show as Gus, Belemus, Bolemus, Augustus, BA, mother was Mary Ellen Ricketts. Children born late 1850s to the last born 1872. I have them on census's, but want to see if they showed anyplace else. Particularly need the 3rd from last child listed as Oliver, I suspect he has another name as we can't locate him on the 1880 census. B A died 1870 and Mary Ellen 1872. In fact we will take anything that is know about this family, like where their farm was that Belemus so loving planted lots of apple trees on that he imported from NY. It's on a tributery/stream, not far from the Gasconade River. We have pretty well come to the conclusion that Belemus is the son of Michael Burtscher and Margaret Hayden, dau of Dr William Belemus Hayden of Cape Girardeau and Ste Genevieve respectively. Now we are trying to really prove the relationship and fill in the gaps. (Cousin Pat writes the list, so we are trying to help each other) Will take Hayden information too! Thanks so much and Happy New Year to everyone, Maggi

In Kings' Book; Melinda Orton and two brothers were related to the Robersons. Melinda's parents died out of state, and the 3 kids were brought in to live with the Roberson family. Melinda's first husband was Hiram Benton. Kings book says just that he died...before 1862.. They had 2 kids Hiram and Nancy........Do you know anything about any of them... Thanks, Steve
Hey Jim! Thanks for making me feel really loved. I mean, when you open your e-mail and have 106 messages in one day, you know someone out there really cares! (Not all of them were yours, just most of them.) Laughter is good medicine and my serotonin levels were much improved after reading the saga. Thanks. By the way, our son is dating a girl in Fulton Co. IL, last name Roberson. Is this a common surname, or are we talking connections here?
