Posted on: Maries Co MO Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mo/Maries/10712 Surname: Ray, Trent, McKinnon, Robertson, Bull, Minzes ------------------------- I am looking for any info on the Seaton Church and Cemetery.I would like to know where they were started? Who started them? Who pastored at Seaton Church? Did they go by any other name? Would love to see any old pictures that anyone might have on Seaton Church.
I have researched the Viessmann iine about 30 years. John Wolfgang Viessmann is recorded as Lutheran in his marriage to Theresa Lauterbach at St. Joseph's Church, St.Louis, Missouri on April 30th 1850. I have a copy of the original record on mircrofilm. The record, written in latin, indicates that took catholic religious studies before the marriage. Cousin's I have talked to feel that John's father, George, his mother Cunnigunda Schuster and his brother's Christian and Frederick were Lutheran. The Lauterbach's were very strong Catholic.

Viessmann is the German spelling .That means that it is probably Catholic,as were most of the Germans that immigrated in the 1800s.The Germans that came before the revolution were Reform or Protestant, their spelling was probably americanised by the 1800s. At least that is my theory. >From: "DeVere Whitaker" <devere@onemain.com> >Reply-To: MOMARIES-L@rootsweb.com >To: MOMARIES-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [MOMARIES] Viessman >Date: Thu, 15 Mar 2001 10:38:33 -0800 > >List, > >I am not researching the Viessman/Viessmann family but my family married >into them and I worked at the Post-Dispatch with one for many years. Hi, Judy, This really confuses me. My records say she married Jack Anderson in 1879. Later, I have no date, my records say she was married to Thomas Sisco and had a daughter, Martha, by him in 1885. I have Judy born in 1862, and dying in 1952, buried beside Sisco in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Newburg, I would like to know more about your info, and when I find time, I'll do more looking in my files for sources.. Doris
In the Marriage records of Maries County - Book A - Jack Anderson to Harriet Forester, 25 May 1879, married by Jos. Hutchison. I have the marriage books A and B, as well as an index to C, D, and E. The second marriage you mention is not shown in Maries County. Perhaps they went to a neighboring county. If you know where they lived in Maries, try the next near neighboring county for a second marriage. good luck, Judy Subject: [MOMARIES] Fw: Re: Marriage record > From: "Forester, Kenneth G." <forester@umr.edu> > > I'm trying to find a marriage record for a Great Aunt. > > Harriett M. List, I am not researching the Viessman/Viessmann family but my family married into them and I worked at the Post-Dispatch with one for many years. My cousin Velma married Ray "Putt" Viessman. He is passed on so, I mentioned his name. "Putt" always said the spelling of the Viessman name designated whether they were Catholic or Protestant. If it it ended with two "Ns" they were one and one "N" was the other. I don't recall which way it was. The Viessman I worked with was killed in an auto crash. He was from a family of about eight brothers or more. They were all patriotic and most served in the Navy. I think some still do. One of the boys was a highway patrolman and a good one. I understand that he went to the car crash site not knowing that the fatality was his brother. I just sent this for sentimental reasons. DeVere

Well, you can bet when anything like this website for the census comes along FREE it will be hit hard and you'll just have to be patient. When it says it's unavailable, it just means that it's busy. . . and likely to be very busy. Hang in there and keep trying. I hope they've planned on keeping up with the equipment to handle the traffic. Pam Smith

Over 253,000. died in the Civil war from both sides. Brother against brother, an anglo-war in America. Yet , it is played down do to "Political correctness". Barbara Boxer and Feinsten are not the answer-- they are the problem.... They represent a very dumbed down America, write to War Veteran members od Congress and the Senate..
