Duncan, 44, wife of Ermil N. The accident occurred on Route E in Maries county, 5 miles north of Rolla. Mrs. Duncan was riding in a 1947 two-ton truck driven by her husband. The tie rod came down, causing her husband to lose control and overturn, according to the state highway patrol. Also killed in the accident were two cows which Duncan was hauling. NOTE: This obit has a large tear through it where a hunk of paper was torn loose. It mentions five brothers, but there is no comma between John and Clarence. Don't know if this is two separate men, or if another totally different name was accidentally omitted. The daughter's name is printed as Wander, and her sister's name is shown as Grunwaldl with the extra "L" at the end. . ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Hello All, I am new to the list & would like to share what I know of my family, also looking for additional info. My grandfather Thomas Fred (Vandgrifft)? may have spelled it different, moved his family to the Belle & Bland area between 1940 & 1945. All their children went to school in the area, Thomas (Fred) died on 2/14/1956 & is buried at Liberty Cemetery at Belle. My grandmother Velma (Woods) continued to live in the area for many many years. She died on 4/16/1996 in Salem. I remember as a child that my g grandparents (Woods) lived there also. I know quite a bit about the Woods side, but very little about the Vandgrifft's. For some reason as I was growing up no one talked about my grandfather. Is there anyone who knows who he was & anything about him ? All I've been able to find out is when & where he was born. His mother's name is Laura (Dobbs) born about 1869 in Mo. Many thanks to all who respond. Sincerly, Alice

I think there was an omission and typo about his marriage to Jane Snook. In my grandfather's family bible, it notes Logan's marriage to a Nancy Jane Shook. My grandfather was born in Vienna,Maries Co,MO which leads me to believe that I am on the right track. The bible made no reference to Logan's other marriages though.
