Forwarded by the listadmin for: "Cliff Metcalf" <cliffmet@qwest.net> Noah Copeland is a half brother of Milly Jane (Copeland) Hancock. Milly Jane married Ruth Doyle's brother Leander Doyle, probably in 1854 since their first child, William, was born 29 Feb, 1855. Leander and Ruth's brother, Hugh Lee Martin Doyle also married Noah's sister Leerva Copeland. They apparently all resettled in St, Clair County, MO as Milly Jane, Hugh L M, Leerva and Ruth are all buried there. Leander apparently died in Maries County before 1860 because Milly Jane is listed as a widow on that census. Does anyone have any info (even undocumented family history) on what happened to Leander? Based on the 1850 census, Leander was born in 1838, which would have made him only 16 in 1854 when he married Milly Jane, who was about 27. Seems awfully young, but must be accurate unless the census taker wrote it down wrong. Would appreciate any further info on any of the Copeland/Doyle families. Hello Shirley, I could have sworn I posted some information on my Geisler/Giesler family to the Maries Co. website - wills and deeds. You mentioned changes being made - I tried clicking on the "Wills" and "Deeds" and it just takes me to the "Message Boards" which is not what I wanted. What happened to the wills and deed information? Is there a new place to check now? Clicking on resources takes me to the main Rootsweb Missouri page and has only the Liberty cemetery. I'm confused. :( I have some new "cousins" who have contacted me and I'd hoped to save myself some work and just refer them to what I'd already posted. Pamela Geisler Smith Gresham, OR
Changes are still being made. All the boards are being integrated into one system. There will be a drop-down menu that will give you options as to what type of post you are seeking. I'll try to get online later and see if I can figure this out for you. Things are very hectic right now as Admins are learning the new system and working out all the bugs. I recently commissioned research help for my Duffin ancestors that lived in Maries County. If others are interested, please contact me. Francis Duffin and Rosa Mary Walsh Duffin were married 13 Feb 1841 in Crockanolly, Skerry, Antrim, Ireland. Their daughter Sarah Cecelia Duffin was christened 14 April 1852 in Glenravel, Skerry, Antrim, Ireland. She married George Louis Viesmann on 10 April 1883 at Visitation Church in Vienna and died 10 June 1917 at Brinktown and is buried at Guardian Angels in an unmarked grave. I have a copy or scanned image of the gravesites at Guardian Angels. Does anybody need a copy?
